Since taking office, the Obama Administration has actively blocked, delayed and thwarted legislation that would allow the United States to become more independent of foreign oil. With gasoline prices soaring to over $5 per gallon in some parts, the American people can readily see the effects of the Obama Administration's ill-planned policies and regulations. The end result has been the loss of more American jobs, increasing energy prices, a stagnated economy and an increase of threat to our national security by deepening our dependence on foreign energy.

Before I offer you my solution for what will work towards making the United States independent of foreign oil, I want to first explain to the people of Missouri what won't work: Over-reaching EPA and administrative regulations, Cap and Trade, and the present "Green Energy" Program. In other words, it's everything that has been tried or suggested thus far. Why? Because none of these three supposedly innovative answers to our energy problems realistically utilizes or promotes nuclear energy, the usage of our native oil, natural gas, coal reserves and has never worked elsewhere.

There is no way that the United States can achieve its independence from foreign oil without utilizing all the resources available to us. By creating an energy surplus at home, it will allow American companies to still provide export product to its foreign customers abroad and at the same time create jobs and provide cheaper gas and electricity domestically.
